Google currency converter and the Iranian Rial

If you plug in 1 USD and convert it into the Iranian Rial using this application from Google you will get something like 42000 Rials.
This exchange rate is not what you would get in Iran.
You would get over twice as much these days something like 120000 Rials or 12000 Tomans.
Why? Because this is the official exchange rate i.e exchange rate for the Government organizations and related businesses to import and export and there is the parallel exchange rate.
The parallel exchange rate is still legal. It is for ordinary Iranians and tourists alike to buy and sell non Iranian currency.
Where do you exchange to get this rate? In most banks, bureau de change, hotels etc.

One day hikes in northern Alborz range

Lemira : - is a summer settlement of some 50 odd adobe houses in an alpine pastureland above the forest line in an altitude of some 2300m in the Goleyjan district of southern Tonekabon. It is one of the most picturesque summer villages in the area within easy reach of Khoonegeli. It has an amazing panoramic view of the Caspian Sea, the forest below, and the coastal towns from Ramsar to Chalous of some 70km radius. There are 3 trails to reach Lemira a) Khoonegeli (altitude 80m ASL) – Beysar a tiny settlement at an altitude of 600m ASL 15 minutes by car then trek via an old forest trail, hardly used these days as a dirt road to Aghuzhal has shorten the journey to Lemira, the return can be via Aghuzhal (1200m ASL) to Khoonegeli 17km 45 minutes. Approximate hiking time : 8 hours b) Khoonegeli- Aghuzhal –Lemira, return via Valgesar. This would involve a 17km drive to Aghuzhal (1200m ASL) in the forest then a 4 h

Zarrin Desert Yazd

You are in for a nice surprise. An incredible trek in one of the least explored deserts of Iran. Its remoteness has meant that it has stayed pristine and four wheel drivers have not yet got to it. Few, if any people have walked the entire L shaped dunes separated by playas and beautiful dried salt lakes. It is some 50 aerial kilometres and probably over 70 ground kilometres. The altitude of the dunes is between 800 to 1100 meters above sea level. The best time to do it would be from mid October until late March. It is now on offer.
